NE - LSR
needle shut-off

World class in
injection moulding

The needle shut-off nozzle NE was specially developed for processing elastomers in the field of LSR injection molding. The integrated cooling system regulates the carefree processing of rubber, liquid silicone and other elastomers without vulcanization taking place. Flow optimization leads to significantly less shear on the processed material. The nozzle is made entirely of corrosion-resistant materials and has a pneumatically controlled needle shut-off that separates the melt flow directly at the interface to the mold. For cold runner applications, the nozzle can be equipped with an immersion tip.

  • Prevention of vulcanization of silicone in the nozzle
  • Prevention of mass leakage
  • Shorter cycle times lead to increased productivity
  • Simple assembly
  • Fast shut-off reaction
  • Stainless

Tip with radius or angle contour

Nozzle system on the hot tool

For tools with thermal separation between the sprue and the nozzle, we offer tips with a radius or angle contour. These nozzle tips are designed to allow the nozzle to close as close as possible to the cavity. To ensure optimal cooling, cooling is required over the entire immersion length. The tip contour and bore are customized to meet specific customer requirements. The nozzle tip is directly in contact with the hot tool and is either heated or cooled accordingly. This prevents premature vulcanization of the material inside the nozzle. Thermal separation occurs between the hot tool and the cold nozzle, allowing precise control of the melt temperature.

Tip with pin for cold runner

Nozzle system on the cold runner

This tip variant is designed for tools that require thermal separation between the molded part and the sprue. The tip pin contour is typically Ø15x23 mm at 120° or Ø20x23 mm at 120°. The nozzle tip is positioned on the cold runner, with thermal separation occurring between the cold tool and the hot cavity. Our NE-nozzle with a cold runner tip is not suitable for use on hot tools, as the silicone could vulcanize in the nozzle tip and clog the bore. The pin (piston) is equipped with a seal, which relieves the cold runner in the tool through decompression by retracting the injection unit (nozzle). The 120° cone seals against the injection pressure via the contact force of the injection unit.

Tip with pin for cold runner, with radial compensation element

Compensation for up to 2 mm radial misalignment

This variant of the cold runner tip features an additional radial compensation element that can compensate for up to 2 mm of radial misalignment. The cold runner tip with radial compensation functions similarly to the standard cold runner tip but offers the added ability to compensate for lateral movements or misalignment. This is particularly useful in two-component molding processes with side gating, where the gating point is sensitive to movements of the machine plate. The compensation tip protects the nozzle from damage and ensures reliable process control.
